About the Position
Under general supervision, this job is responsible for investigating, negotiating and settling basic and moderately complex property damage and liability insurance claims. This individual travels to the loss site to conduct a thorough analysis. This individual reviews the insurance policy, evaluates and estimates damages, determines loss coverage, and authorizes payments. The individual is capable of working independently, prioritizing the individual's own responsibilities, and managing the individual's own workload while maintaining quality customer experience through follow up during the claims process.Salary Range Depending on Experience: $47,500 - $55,800 a yearCompany car provided within first year. 

Specific responsibilities include
  • Makes and maintains a connection with the customer by understanding and meeting their needs; serves the customer with empathy; and follows up to ensure that customer needs have been met.
  • Investigates, reviews, determines and verifies coverage for claims with medium complexity and provides clear coverage explanation to customer both verbally and in writing.
  • Travels locally to multiple homes a day to complete inspections and settlements. Ability to organize and function efficiently in a field environment is required.
  • Prepares damage estimates for claims with medium complexity using Xactimate and Disto Laser measuring tool.
  • Inspects and estimates damages to residential homes caused by water, wind, smoke/fire damage, vandalism and all other perils. This will include inspections of roofs, attics and crawlspaces of homes.
  • Negotiates with vendors as needed to reach agreed cost for repairs.
  • Responsible for claim accounting of all payments to ensure appropriate coverages applied and claim paid in full.
  • Clearly document claim files with facts of loss.
  • Researches and responds quickly to customer communications, concerns, conflicts or issues.
  • Review customer satisfaction results; participates in determining necessary personal and business unit action plans to drive business outcomes.
  • Test for and apply for state licenses across the country for capacity in virtual claim handling.

Working environment
Please note that, since this is a field service position, you will need to have a valid driver’s license.  This is a demanding field position that will require you to travel within the territory as much as 50% of your working time.  As a result, you must be willing to work some extended hours if necessary.

Ideal Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in related field preferred or equivalent experience plus two years’ experience delivering outstanding customer service preferred.
  • Prior claims or insurance experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a passion for helping others.
  • Strong organizational and computer skills.
  • Persistence and the ability to work through and solve problems.
  • Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
